12–18 mo

The time to honestly replicate the sealed active-cooling hardware. That is a physics moat.

18–24 mo

For an audit-passing clinical-grade firmware and data-integrity stack.

24–36 mo

For the whole stack plus clinical validation and clearance, with no guarantee of clearing the patent family.

The real moat is the combination of patents, clinical data, regulatory clearance, and partnerships, not any single one.
